Every Stat Block you need to run False Hydra 5e

Every Stat Block you need to run False Hydra 5e

From polyp to legendary size!

We love false hydras! The gooey fleshy many headed creepy dudes have haunted our tables for years, so we decided to put together all the stat blocks we use to run them in one place! There is no official 5e stat block for false hydra, but we like to think this one is the most balanced and easy to use at the table. A very cool part of the false hydra's lore is that it grows as it hears lies and consumes more tasty vilagers (nom nom) so we have built out for stat blocks for the false hydra. The false hydra polyp (a magic item of a tiny one in a jar that is not yet dangerous) the false hydra adolescent (when it just emerges and feeds on its first few victims) the adult false hydra (your standard town killing size) and the legendary false hydra (when the players screw up and don't kill it in time and it becomes a world ending beast). If you want help running a false hydra campaign you can check out our full DM guide video right here or read our more in depth blog on tactics and story hooks here. Worldbuilding is a waste of time - but you should still do it

Middle Earth contained entire languages, year by year fictional world history, timelines of kings, ruins of ages past, songs of gods long dead. It seemed to me that the story I was reading in the core trilogy was just the tinieset fragment of Tolkien's entire world.

Now, I’m sure a lot of you have seen at least one of his videos or heard about one of his popular GM prep books. Mike Shea (better known as Sly Flourish on the intrawebs) has helped GMs far and wide with The Lazy Dungeon Master and his famous eight-step session prep method.

2 Questions You Must Ask Your Players Before Your D&D Campaign

2 Questions You Must Ask Your Players Before Your D&D Campaign

One of the most rewarding and diverse aspects of creating a Dungeons and Dragons adventure is also sometimes the most intimidating deterrent to possible players and Dungeon Masters: anything could happen. Even the most dedicated rule scholars and would-be DMs are going to feel like their first “ideal beginner’s module” just didn’t go over well, resulting in disappointed first time potential players and a discouraged DM.
